I hope and prayer that everyone is having a penitential Ash Wednesday..... "offering it up" as mom always said. ...... From today's Psalm reading we heard "A clean heart create for me, O God, and a steadfast spirit renew within me. Cast me not out from your presence, and your Holy Spirit take not from me" and from the first reading: (Jl 2:12-18) Even now, says the LORD, return to me with your whole heart, with fasting, and weeping, and mourning; Rend your hearts, not your garments, and return to the LORD, your God." ........ Don't you love Lent? The church is offering us this awesome opportunity to go deeper, to come closer, to the Lord as individuals and with our faith communities. I don't want to miss out on the opportunity to make this the best Lent ever. The book study is a part of that for me.
